This is one of those genius ideas I wish was mine… a perfect solution for the eternal problem of ‘a closet full of clothes but nothing to wear’ dilemma. Coupled with the curse of exquisite taste and a modest budget dressing for an event, that requires a level of fabulousness unobtainable to the average earning female, becomes dreadful. Well dread no more!!! 

Meet Jennifer Hyman & Jennifer Fleiss, two Harvard grads who double as every girls fairy godmother. Together they came up with the genius site Rent the Runway! 

Rent the Runway provides it's members the ability to rent designer dresses, accessories and other essentials for approximately 10% of retail prices. And membership is free!!

                        What to Avoid: 

Avoid looking like a “Fashion Don’t” by choosing your accessories wisely. Keep the jewelry to a minimum, this dress likes to stand alone! Big sparkly rhinestones, not the best choice here. Save the black tights for another day, paired with a silver dress it tends to look a little streetwalker. Oh and please do not ever wear clear shoes with a silver dress. Ever.

What Works:

Classic Black is always a safe bet, it’s the best choice if a silver dress is already daring enough!

Don’t be afraid to avoid the obvious, add a pop of color to your look! 

Choose shoes wisely:

Choose a shoe in a muted material such as suede to let your dress be the focus. If choosing black shoes, pick an open toe strappy style to avoid a harsh contrast, competing with your dress. If you want to wear silver pick a shade close to your dress shade. Thin strappy styles work best.
